The end of The Boys is finally here, and the newly released trailer for the series finale has already sparked panic among fans.

Prime Video unveiled the teaser for season 5 episode 8, titled “Blood and Bone,” teasing an explosive final showdown between Billy Butcher and Homelander as the hit superhero series prepares to conclude after five seasons.

The trailer opens with Butcher delivering a chilling line: “We need to end the whole bloody notion of Supes.” From there, the footage spirals into chaos, showing the Boys launching what appears to be one final mission against Homelander at the White House.

The teaser hints that the finale will center around Butcher’s desperate attempt to use the deadly Supe virus against Homelander, whose growing god complex has pushed the Vought universe to the edge. Explosions, violent clashes, and emotional moments flash across the screen as the franchise heads toward its final chapter.

The footage also suggests Kimiko may be fueled by revenge following Frenchie’s shocking death in episode 7, a twist that devastated viewers and quickly became one of the season’s most talked-about moments.

However, while fans were excited by the trailer’s intensity, many immediately noticed two major absences: Soldier Boy and Marie Moreau.

Soldier Boy’s absence seemingly confirms previous comments from creator Eric Kripke, who revealed that Jensen Ackles had already filmed his final scenes earlier this season. That means the character likely won’t return before the upcoming spinoff series Vought Rising.

Fans were even more surprised not to see Marie Moreau, played by Jaz Sinclair, anywhere in the trailer. The Gen V protagonist had been heavily theorized to play a major role in Homelander’s downfall due to her blood-based powers.

Her apparent absence has frustrated some viewers, especially after Gen V’s storylines became increasingly connected to The Boys’ final season.

Despite those concerns, anticipation for the finale remains massive. Prime Video has confirmed that “Blood and Bone” will serve as the official series finale of The Boys, ending one of television’s most successful and controversial superhero franchises.

The final episode premieres May 20 on Prime Video.
