'The Batman Part II' cast revealed
Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan join DC sequel

Director Matt Reeves has expanded the cast of 'The Batman Part II' by bringing in Marvel stars Scarlett Johansson and Sebastian Stan alongside returning lead Robert Pattinson, as anticipation builds for the DC sequel scheduled for release in October 2027.
Reeves confirmed the additions through cryptic posts on X, sharing separate GIFs welcoming Johansson and Stan to Gotham City. Reports say Johansson will portray Gilda Dent, while Stan is expected to play Harvey Dent, a central figure in the sequel's reportedly darker storyline.
The filmmaker has also added German actor Sebastian Koch and Brian Tyree Henry to the cast, though their roles remain officially undisclosed. Reeves sparked speculation online after liking a fan theory suggesting Henry could appear as Gotham detective Harvey Bullock.
Industry reports further suggest Koch may portray Dr Jerimiah Arkham, the troubled Arkham Asylum director from DC Comics lore, as the sequel appears set to deepen Gotham's psychological and criminal underworld.
Returning cast members include Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb/Penguin, Jayme Lawson as Mayor Bella Real and Gil Perez-Abraham as Officer Martinez. Barry Keoghan is also expected to reprise his role as the Joker.
Reeves recently shared a snowy first glimpse of the Batmobile, hinting that the sequel will unfold during winter. Speculation surrounding the film's villains continues, with names including Two-Face, Hush and Phantasm reportedly linked to the project.
The original 'The Batman' earned more than $770 million worldwide and became one of 2022's highest-grossing films. Reeves, who co-wrote the sequel with Mattson Tomlin, has promised audiences a villain unlike anything previously seen in a Batman film. 'The Batman Part II' is set for theatrical release on October 1, 2027.
