More than three months after Nancy Guthrie mysteriously vanished from her Arizona home, online speculation surrounding the case has taken another dramatic turn.

A new name, Niccolas Allen Coleman, is now circulating heavily across social media, with internet users questioning whether his recent arrest could somehow connect him to the still-unsolved disappearance.

Nancy, the mother of Savannah Guthrie, was last reportedly seen on the night of January 31, 2026. According to previous reports, the final person believed to have seen her was her daughter Annie Guthrie’s husband, Tommaso Cioni. Since then, investigators have released footage and photos of a masked person of interest captured near the property, fueling endless theories online.

Now, public attention has shifted toward 22-year-old Niccolas Allen Coleman after authorities in Arizona arrested him in connection with an unrelated homicide investigation.

Coleman, a Tucson resident, was taken into custody by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department in May 2026 on suspicion of first-degree murder tied to a fatal shooting that allegedly took place in early February. Officials had earlier described him as “armed and dangerous” while searching for him.

Almost immediately after news of his arrest surfaced, internet users began drawing connections between Coleman and Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. Much of the speculation appears to stem from the timing of the homicide investigation, which overlaps with the timeline of Nancy’s disappearance, as well as similarities social media users claim to see between Coleman’s appearance and the masked figure seen in security footage from Nancy’s home.

Online discussions intensified across X, with users comparing photos, debating physical characteristics, and questioning whether Coleman could somehow be involved. Some posts even called for side-by-side comparisons between the suspect images and Coleman’s mugshots.

However, despite the online frenzy, authorities have publicly stated there is currently no evidence linking Niccolas Allen Coleman to Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance.

Officials have clarified that Coleman’s arrest is specifically tied to a homicide case involving a male victim and not the kidnapping investigation connected to Nancy. Still, speculation has continued to spread online, with some theorizing that Coleman may have indirect knowledge related to the case.

Before Coleman’s name entered the conversation, much of the internet speculation centered around Tommaso Cioni. Social media users previously questioned whether his physical profile matched the unidentified masked individual shown in released surveillance images. Those rumors intensified after journalist Ashleigh Banfield reportedly described him as a “prime suspect,” citing an unnamed law enforcement source.

At the same time, other commentators pushed back on those theories. Independent journalist Jonathan Lee Riches argued that Cioni’s height did not align with the FBI’s estimated description of the person seen in the footage.

As of May 2026, Nancy Guthrie remains missing, and authorities continue to offer a reward for information that could lead to answers in the case. Meanwhile, online speculation surrounding possible suspects continues to grow despite officials repeatedly warning against spreading unverified claims.
