SHC suspends CCE results, orders sealing of records
Summons SPSC officials with complete examination record on May 21

The Sindh High Court has suspended the results of the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024 conducted by the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) and summoned its officials along with the complete examination record after candidates challenged the transparency of the process.
A bench of the SHC in Karachi, comprising Justice Muhammad Saleem Jessar and Justice Nisar Ahmed Bhanbro, on Thursday suspended the results and directed the commission to preserve and seal all records related to CCE-2024.
The order came on a petition filed by seven candidates who questioned the fairness of the examination and alleged irregularities in the process. The court observed that serious concerns had been raised and directed that the results announced on May 6 remain suspended until further orders, with no further action to be taken on their basis.
The SPSC had announced 70 successful candidates on May 6, with marks ranging from 500 to 610, covering male, female, urban, and rural quotas. The commission had advertised the posts on December 2, 2024, conducted the screening test in October 2025, and held written examinations in December 2025 across Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Larkana.
The announcement triggered protests, after which the SPSC registered an FIR against demonstrators outside its Hyderabad office. Three vloggers and social media users were also booked for allegedly inciting unrest.
The petitioners-Abdul Rehman, Ahsan Ali, Ataullah Shah, Muhammad Shoaib, Noman Kalwar, Asad Ali, and Allah Dino-through their counsel advocates Ali Lakhani and Kamran Isran, argued that several high-scoring candidates were not declared successful, while allegedly less deserving candidates were selected.
They further contended that the SPSC's credibility had been repeatedly questioned in courts due to similar controversies and urged the bench to order an audit of the results.
The court issued notices to the Sindh government, SPSC, its secretary, and controller examinations, directing them to appear on May 21.
