'The White Lotus' season 4 sets stage in Paris hotel worth over £1k a night

The White Lotus season four has officially locked in its glamorous filming locations, with production underway across Paris and the French Riviera, marking a major shift for the hit HBO anthology series.

One of the key locations confirmed is the Mandarin Oriental Lutetia in Paris, a luxury hotel where room rates reportedly start at around £1,178 per night. The historic property, known for its high-end interiors and long-standing reputation in the French capital, is expected to serve as a central backdrop for the upcoming season.

The series will also film at the Château de La Messardière in Saint-Tropez, a five-star resort set across 32 acres overlooking the Mediterranean. The luxury estate, complete with wellness facilities, private villas and exclusive amenities, adds to the show’s tradition of featuring opulent holiday destinations that contrast beauty with underlying drama.

Filming for the new season began earlier this year, with HBO confirming that the story will once again revolve around wealthy guests whose lives unravel during a high-end vacation. As with previous seasons, the narrative is expected to open with a mysterious death.

Creator Mike White reportedly selected France for its “sexy and evocative” atmosphere, aiming to capture both the elegance of Paris and the glamour of the Riviera. The production shift also marks the end of the show’s previous partnership with Four Seasons hotels, which featured in earlier seasons set in Hawaii, Sicily and Thailand.

Season four is set to introduce a new ensemble cast, with filming continuing across multiple French locations ahead of its expected release later this year.
