Jack Nicholson may have largely retreated from Hollywood, but the legendary actor once admitted there was one deeply personal wish he still hoped to fulfill: finding love again.

Nicholson spoke candidly in a past interview about his desire for “one last romance,” while acknowledging that he was not particularly optimistic it would happen.

“I would love one last romance,” Nicholson said. “But I’m not very realistic about it happening. What I can’t deny is my yearning.”

The three-time Oscar winner, who turned 89 in April, has not appeared in a feature film since How Do You Know. Although he has stepped back from acting, he remains one of Hollywood’s most celebrated performers, with iconic roles in The Shining, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, As Good as It Gets, and Batman.

Nicholson also reflected on how aging changed the way he approached relationships, saying he no longer felt comfortable flirting publicly. Despite that, he emphasised that his longing for companionship had never disappeared.

Over the years, Nicholson was linked to several high-profile relationships, most notably his long-term romance with Anjelica Huston, which lasted nearly two decades.

While fans continue to hope for another screen appearance, Nicholson’s candid remarks offered a more intimate glimpse into his life, revealing that even one of Hollywood’s most legendary stars still harbors a simple and deeply human wish: to fall in love one more time.
