Poster exhibit spreads drug abuse awareness
A poster exhibition highlighting the harmful effects of drug abuse was organised by ELMS in collaboration with the Pakistan National Council of the Arts at the National Art Gallery, where students from schools across the country showcased their creative work aimed at promoting awareness among youth.
The 1st ELMS Poster Exhibition featured 79 selected posters on the theme "Effects of Drug Abuse," received from around 240 schools collaborating with ELMS.
The exhibition was inaugurated by former Federal Minister Jamal Shah along with Samman Islam. The ceremony began with opening remarks by ELMS Coordinator Syed Nusrat Hussain, who highlighted ELMS' initiatives and emphasised the role of students in awareness-based creative activities. PNCA Director General (DG) Muhammad Ayoub Jamali appreciated ELMS for encouraging art and social awareness among students, stressing the importance of such initiatives for youth development.
Speaking on the occasion, Samman Islam underlined the need to raise awareness about drug abuse among students and called for more educational and creative initiatives for young people. Jamal Shah praised the creativity of participating students and said every artwork carried its own unique message, making the selection of winners a difficult task.
He encouraged young artists to continue expressing themselves through art with confidence.
The poster competition was judged by Nosheen Nusrat, Dr Farwa Haider and Ms. Mariam Ahmed. Certificates were distributed among winning students, while shields were presented to judges and distinguished guests in recognition of their contributions.
