Madonna is set to premiere her new visual film Confessions II at the Tribeca Festival, marking a major return to the event with an ambitious project that merges music and cinema. The film is directed by David Toro and Solomon Chase, known collectively as TORSO, and is constructed around the first six tracks of her upcoming studio album of the same name.

The album Confessions II, scheduled for release on July 3 via Warner Records, serves as a follow up to her acclaimed 2005 record Confessions on a Dance Floor. The new visual film expands on that era’s dance focused identity while presenting a more cinematic and narrative driven experience designed to be viewed as a continuous piece.

According to the official description, Confessions II unfolds as an immersive sequence of interconnected musical chapters. Each segment is described as a distinct narrative experience, blending elements of dance culture, psychological tension and dreamlike storytelling. The project is structured as a single continuous visual journey rather than separate music videos, with each track forming part of a larger unfolding narrative.

The film explores themes of identity, visibility and escape, set within a nightlife inspired world. It is framed around a single night out that evolves into a stylised emotional journey, where shifting energy and atmosphere reflect internal conflict and transformation. The production aims to blur the boundary between performance and reality, creating a fluid experience where music and imagery are inseparable.

Tribeca Festival co founder Jane Rosenthal described Madonna’s career as defined by reinvention, highlighting how the project reflects her long standing ability to reshape her artistic identity. The premiere will take place at the Beacon Theatre on June 5, followed by a conversation featuring Madonna and the directors alongside television host Jimmy Fallon.

TORSO, the directing duo behind the project, have previously worked across fashion campaigns, runway productions and visual installations, often focusing on movement and experimental storytelling. Their collaboration with Madonna continues a trend of music artists working with visual directors to create cinematic album experiences designed for theatrical presentation.

Tickets for the premiere will initially be available through exclusive access codes for members of Madonna’s community, with wider availability expected to follow. The project adds to growing anticipation for Confessions II, which is positioned as one of Madonna’s most conceptually ambitious releases in recent years.
