Celebs honour silent strength of motherhood
Stars share heartfelt Mother's Day tributes filled with love, grief and gratitude

Pakistan's entertainment industry turned social media into a deeply emotional space on Mother's Day, as actors, singers and television personalities shared tributes celebrating the women they described as their source of comfort, strength and unconditional love.
From nostalgic childhood photographs to reflections on grief, parenthood and family bonds, celebrities used Instagram to honour mothers in ways that ranged from joyful and affectionate to deeply personal and poignant. For many stars, the occasion became not only a celebration of motherhood, but also a moment of vulnerability and remembrance.
Actor Hania Aamir emerged as one of the most widely discussed voices of the day after posting childhood photographs with her mother alongside recent family pictures. Her message resonated with followers for acknowledging the emotional complexity the occasion can carry for people navigating grief, strained relationships or loneliness.
"Happy mother's day to all the lovely moms," she wrote, while also sending "extra love to anyone missing their mother today, grieving one, healing their relationship with her, or being one to themselves these days."
Hania also addressed those silently struggling through the day, writing: "And to the people pretending they're okay today when they're trying very hard not to cry. Gentle hugs to all of you too. I know today can feel like a lot."
Her post drew praise online for moving beyond traditional celebratory messages and recognising the quieter emotional realities attached to motherhood and loss.
Singer Asim Azhar also joined the tributes by sharing a series of photographs with his mother on Instagram. Keeping the message brief and personal, he captioned the post: "no one like u, happy mothers day".
Veteran actor Bushra Ansari took a more emotional route, reflecting on the loss of her mother in a heartfelt post that urged followers to value their parents while they still can.
"Mother's day makes me sad because we have lost you, mom," she wrote. "Please take care of your moms while you still can. Miss you, Mehmooda Bashir!!"
Similarly, Noor Bukhari shared a vintage black-and-white photograph of her mother and prayed for her to be granted a "higher place in Jannah", while Aijazz Aslam echoed the sentiment that no worldly relationship compares to a mother's love.
Actor Sonya Hussyn shared a collaborative post with her mother featuring childhood memories and photographs from events they attended together over the years. Calling her mother "my world, my doll, my heaven, my peace", she prayed for her long life and happiness.
The celebrations also highlighted celebrities who recently embraced motherhood themselves. Actor Saboor Aly, who recently celebrated her daughter Serena's first birthday, reflected on the emotional transformation motherhood had brought into her life.
"Thank you Serena for making me a mother - the most beautiful title I'll ever carry," she wrote in a heartfelt message accompanying photographs with her daughter.
Saboor added that motherhood had made her realise how deeply her own mother's love continues to live within her. "Through you, I've come to realise how much of my mother lives within me, little reminders that love never really leaves, it simply lives on through us," she wrote.
The actor also paid tribute to mothers everywhere, praising their resilience, sacrifices and emotional labour. "Kudos to every mom, for the love, strength, and sacrifices no words can fully capture," she added.
Digital platform Mashion also joined the celebrations with a special tribute featuring celebrity mothers and their children. The post praised women "doing it all, on and off screen" and featured personalities including Mahira Khan, Sarah Khan, Urwa Hocane, Ayeza Khan, Sanam Jung, Momal Sheikh, Minal Khan, Syra Yousuf, Aiman Khan and Iqra Aziz.
Elsewhere, Sana Javed reshared husband Shoaib Malik's tribute to his mother ahead of her Hajj journey, while Adnan Siddiqui offered a thoughtful reflection on the emotional and physical labour of motherhood.
"She is not a goddess who doesn't feel fatigue," Siddiqui wrote. "She is a human being who chooses, every single morning, to show up anyway."
From emotional remembrance to celebrations of new motherhood, the day once again highlighted how Mother's Day has become a meaningful moment for Pakistan's showbiz fraternity to pause and acknowledge the women who shape both private lives and public success.
