Severance star Adam Scott has offered a promising update for fans, saying the Apple TV sci-fi hit’s upcoming third season is expected to arrive “much sooner” than the long gap between the first two instalments.
Speaking to Deadline on the BAFTA TV Awards red carpet, where the series was nominated for Best International Programme, Scott addressed fan frustration over the lengthy wait times between seasons.

“We’re always trying to shorten the amount of time between seasons, but it’s more important for it to be great than for it to be fast,” he said. “We’re definitely planning on getting it out much sooner than the last round, which was three years, which is too long.”
Scott, who plays Mark Scout in the series, also confirmed that filming for season 3 is expected to begin “very soon,” though he declined to reveal any plot details about the next chapter of the story set inside Lumon Industries.
“The only thing about telling more is it would be a bummer,” he added, hinting at strict secrecy around the upcoming season.
Severance has become one of Apple TV’s most successful original series, with season 2 breaking viewership records and earning major awards recognition, including 27 Emmy nominations and eight wins.
According to Deadline, Apple recently secured full rights to the series in a deal valued at around $70 million, with season 3 previously expected to begin production in the summer.
The new update suggests the series is now moving forward more quickly, offering hope that fans may not face another multi-year gap before returning to Lumon’s unsettling world.
