Billie Eilish fires back at backlash over controversial meat comments
Billie Eilish is not backing down after her recent remarks about meat consumption sparked backlash online.
The singer recently drew criticism after saying that “eating meat is inherently wrong” and that people who eat meat cannot truly claim to love animals. As the debate spread across social media, Eilish responded with a fiery message aimed at her critics.
Rather than walking back her comments, Eilish told critics to “stay fcking mad” and said she “really don’t give a goddamn fck.” She urged people upset by her remarks to “go watch a documentary or two,” pointing to the realities of factory farming and animal cruelty.
Billie Eilish responds to criticism for saying in recent interview that “eating meat is inherently wrong” and if you eat meat you can’t love animals:
“stay f*cking mad at ME i really don’t give a goddamn f*ck […] go watch a documentary or two and some footage of what is done to… pic.twitter.com/c3DAy7BjbPShe also argued that if footage of how animals are treated is “hard for u to watch,” then people should “take a look at urself” instead of directing anger at her.
Eilish said she is “so tired” of empathy for living beings being treated as controversial, framing the backlash as a refusal to confront uncomfortable truths about food consumption.
The response has only intensified the online debate over veganism, animal rights, and whether public figures should make sweeping moral judgments about diet, but Eilish has made clear she is not softening her stance.
