'5 am' link rekindled at Asim's LA show
Singer reunites with model Nida Maqsood after 10 years

Asim Azhar's world tour continues to deliver surprise moments, from a masked appearance by actor Hania Aamir at his New York concert to a reunion with a former collaborator from nearly a decade ago during his Los Angeles show.
It turned into an unexpected full-circle moment when Asim reunited with digital creator Nida Maqsood, who starred in his 2017 music video '5 am', during the West Coast leg of his US tour.
Nida was in the audience when she caught the singer off guard. In a video she later shared online, Asim paused mid-show to introduce her to the crowd, recalling how they had filmed '5 am' together in the same city years earlier.
At the time of the video, Nida was working as a model. She has since taken a different path and is now a practising lawyer and content creator. Reflecting on that journey, she paired clips from the original video with footage from the concert.
The reunion drew cheers from the crowd, with the singer visibly delighted on stage. Nida's transformation also resonated with fans, many of whom praised her journey and the candid nature of the moment.
Backstage, the two spent time catching up, filming a light-hearted video together and posing for photographs. Asim appeared genuinely moved, repeatedly expressing his surprise at seeing her after so many years.
Released in 2017, '5 am' marked a turning point in Asim's career. The track introduced a more polished, electronic pop sound, setting him apart from his earlier work and signalling a shift in Pakistan's evolving music landscape. It remains closely associated with his early rise.
The singer is currently touring in support of his 2025 album Asim Ali, which has taken him across multiple international cities. His shows have drawn attention not only for their scale but also for moments that resonate beyond the stage.
Recently, actor Hania Aamir has also been spotted at several stops on the tour, fuelling speculation among fans about her presence. Neither has addressed the rumours, but the sightings have kept audiences talking.
