Sebastian Stan and Ana de Armas are set to star together in Impunity, a high-profile espionage thriller from Chilean filmmaker Felipe Gálvez, with Pathé handling international sales and distribution, according to Variety.

The film is based on Philippe Sands’ book 38 Londres Street and is set against the backdrop of former Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet’s arrest in London in 1998. The story explores a pivotal moment in international law when a former head of state faced the possibility of losing immunity and being held accountable beyond his own country.

The narrative follows two parallel covert operations unfolding in the aftermath of Pinochet’s detention,  one involving a mercenary working with an NGO, and another centered on a Chilean envoy. As the characters become entangled in layers of political manipulation and espionage, the film examines how justice is shaped, delayed, and often transformed into spectacle outside the courtroom.

Gálvez, who earned international attention for The Settlers, described the project as a way to revisit suppressed historical narratives through the framework of a spy thriller. The screenplay is written by Mariano Llinás and Antonia Girardi, and the film will be shot across Chile, Spain, and the United Kingdom in both English and Spanish.

Both Stan and de Armas are also attached as executive producers, underscoring their creative involvement in the project. The supporting cast includes notable Latin American actors such as Alfredo Castro, Antonia Zegers, and Alejandro Goic.

With its blend of political history and espionage storytelling, Impunity is being positioned as one of the more ambitious international thrillers currently in development, bringing together major Hollywood talent with acclaimed Latin American filmmaking.
