Kid Cudi has removed M.I.A from his Rebel Ragers Tour following backlash over a controversial political rant during a live performance in Dallas.

The incident took place on May 2 at the Dos Equis Pavilion, where M.I.A reportedly delivered an onstage monologue that included political references and remarks about cancel culture and immigration. The comments were met with audible boos from parts of the audience and quickly spread across social media platforms.

Footage from the performance circulated widely online, sparking debate among fans and prompting criticism over the tone and content of the remarks. Some attendees described the segment as inappropriate for a concert setting, while others defended her right to express political views on stage.

Following the incident, Kid Cudi announced M.I.A’s removal from the tour via Instagram on May 4. In his statement, he explained that he had previously communicated expectations regarding onstage content and had been assured those guidelines would be followed. He added that repeated concerns from fans after recent shows led to the decision to part ways.

Cudi emphasized that he would not tolerate remarks that could be considered offensive or disruptive to his audience experience, stating that maintaining a respectful environment for fans was a priority.

The Rebel Ragers Tour, which launched on April 28 in Phoenix, continues across North America with scheduled appearances in 30 cities. Other supporting acts, including Big Boi, A-Trak, Me N Ü, and Dot Da Genius, remain part of the lineup.

The situation highlights ongoing tensions in live music between artistic expression and audience expectations, particularly when political commentary enters entertainment spaces.
