Sadequain Art Exhibition opens in Mississauga, celebrates Pakistan's cultural heritage

The Sadequain Art Exhibition opened on Monday in Mississauga, Canada, for a three-day event celebrating Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, according to a spokesperson from the High Commission of Pakistan in Canada.

Organised by the Sadequain Foundation USA in collaboration with media partners, the exhibition was inaugurated by Muhammad Saleem Khan. In his opening remarks, he paid tribute to Syed Sadequain Ahmed Naqvi, the renowned artist whose work forms the centerpiece of the exhibition.

Khan highlighted Sadequain’s enduring legacy, emphasising the way in which his art continues to inspire generations through its depth and spiritual essence.

The exhibition aims to attract art and calligraphy experts, members of civil society and the media, as well as students and enthusiasts, including participants from the Aga Khan Academy Toronto. The collection features a diverse range of works, including Islamic calligraphy, drawings, paintings, Urdu poetry, and wall carvings.

Member of Ontario's Provincial Parliament Sheref Sabawy, who was in attendance at the event, shared images showcasing the collaboration.

The Sadequain Art Exhibition not only honours the timeless legacy of one of Pakistan’s greatest artists but also serves as a cultural bridge, fostering appreciation for Pakistani art and heritage within Canada’s diverse community.
