'Supergirl' runtime revealed as director stays silent on post-credits scene
-DCU
The runtime for the upcoming DCU film Supergirl has been revealed, while its director remains tight-lipped about a potential post-credits scene.
Director Craig Gillespie confirmed in a recent interview with Collider that Supergirl will run just under one hour and 50 minutes, including credits. The runtime places it slightly shorter than Superman, which had a reported duration of over two hours.
Despite growing speculation among fans, Gillespie declined to provide details about whether the film will include a post-credits scene. His response has fuelled online discussion, particularly as audiences expect the movie to help expand the DC Universe.
The film stars Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El, marking her debut as Supergirl in the rebooted DCU. The project is part of a broader slate overseen by James Gunn and Peter Safran, although Gunn did not write or direct this instalment.
Speculation surrounding a post-credits scene largely centres on a possible setup for Man of Tomorrow, a future DCU project expected to further develop the interconnected storyline. There are also rumours that Jason Momoa could appear as Lobo, a character long associated with the actor.
While early trailer reactions have been generally positive, some viewers have noted stylistic similarities to Gunn’s previous work. However, the film’s tone and narrative direction remain largely under wraps.
Supergirl is scheduled to be released in cinemas worldwide on June 26, 2026.
