Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt have shared that they would be willing to return for a third instalment of The Devil Wears Prada, but only under specific conditions.

Speaking to People, the trio agreed that a strong script would be the deciding factor. Streep emphasised that the quality of the story is essential, while Blunt echoed that sentiment, adding that the project would need to bring back the core cast. Hathaway also noted that all key actors would need to agree for the sequel to move forward.

The comments come as The Devil Wears Prada 2 arrives in cinemas, marking nearly two decades since the release of the original 2006 film. The sequel reunites the central characters, including Miranda Priestly, Andy Sachs and Emily Charlton, as they navigate a changing fashion industry.

The original film, based on The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger, followed a young journalist entering the high-pressure world of fashion publishing. Its enduring popularity has led to continued interest in the characters and their stories.

The cast also reflected on revisiting their roles after many years, noting how their personal and professional experiences have evolved since the first film.

While no official plans for a third instalment have been confirmed, the actors’ openness suggests that the possibility remains, provided the right creative direction is in place.
