Heroes of Might and Magic Olden Era has recorded over 250,000 sales within its first 24 hours on Steam early access, alongside a 91% positive rating from players, according to the developer. The release recouped its full development budget within the same period.

Developed by Unfrozen Studio, the title marks the studio’s return following its earlier release Iratus: Lord of the Dead in 2020.

The new game represents a continuation of the long-running Heroes of Might and Magic franchise, focusing on turn-based strategy gameplay.

In a Steam update, the development team confirmed that more than 3,000 user reviews were submitted during the first day, with over 50,000 players active in the game simultaneously at the time. The studio stated that the project had broken even on the launch day.

Olden Era builds on established mechanics from the series, including tactical combat, resource management and terrain-based strategy.

The game maintains a focus on complex systems rather than simplifying gameplay, aligning with expectations from existing fans of the franchise.

The release also introduces updated visuals and interface improvements aimed at making information more accessible without reducing gameplay depth.

Quality-of-life adjustments have been included to streamline repetitive actions while preserving the core strategic challenge.

Before launch, the game had accumulated 1.5 million wishlists on Steam. The early reception suggests that the title has met expectations among players engaging with the early access version.
