Dar reaffirms Pakistan's commitment to peace in call with Kuwaiti FM

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Saturday spoke to Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) announced.
"The two leaders discussed the evolving regional situation and exchanged views on its wider economic implications," the Foreign Office said in a post on X.
It added that Dar "underscored Pakistan's continued efforts to promote constructive engagement and diplomacy in support of peace and stability in the region and beyond."

Both Dar and Al-Sabbah reaffirmed the "strong fraternal ties" between their countries, agreeing to remain in close contact, MOFA concluded.
In an earlier telephone conversation with FM Dar, Al-Sabah had again extended praise to Pakistan for its role in the US-Iran peace negotiations.

Dar has continued to receive international recognition for his diplomatic leadership as Pakistan has positioned itself at the centre of high-stakes mediation efforts during the ongoing conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran.
Hosting the "Islamabad Talks" in early April, that although ended with no breakthrough, Pakistan has continued its diplomatic efforts, engaging with leaders across the Gulf and beyond.
On April 27, FM Dar held separate telephonic conversations with the foreign ministers of the United Kingdom, Canada, and Egypt, discussing developments regarding the regional situation and emphasising the importance of diplomacy for peace. Three days later, European Union Vice President Kaja Kallas also spoke with Dar and appreciated Pakistan’s continued constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, and the Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, on April 28 extended their appreciation to Dar for his facilitation of talks between the US and Iran.
Over the past weeks, senior officials and influential voices from more than ten countries, including Saudi Arabia, Iran, the US, China, Turkiye, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, and Uzbekistan, have publicly acknowledged Dar's role in facilitating ceasefire negotiations.
