Punjab PTI in the dark over TTAP Labour Day event
Confusion continues to cloud coordination between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Ayeen Pakistan (TTAP) alliance, as PTI's Punjab leadership says it remains unaware of - and unprepared for - a Labour Day event planned in Lahore over the weekend.
TTAP leaders are set to arrive in Lahore for another round of political activity, but PTI, considered its key ally in Punjab, has distanced itself from the event, saying no formal instructions have been conveyed through official party channels.
Uncertainty surrounds the Labour Day gathering, with PTI leaders and office-bearers maintaining that they are not currently part of the event. According to TTAP, its central leadership, including National Assembly Opposition Leader Mehmood Khan Achakzai and Senate Opposition Leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, will attend, while PTI is expected to be represented by its Secretary General Salman Akram Raja.
However, senior PTI leaders in Punjab insist they have received no official communication and cannot confirm participation, let alone make organisational arrangements.
Both TTAP and PTI have indicated that the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chief minister will not attend the event, according to the information relayed to them.
