A new docuseries about Princess Diana is set to bring previously unheard details about her life to the public, with “Diana: The Unheard Truth” promising to unveil hours of never-before-released recordings from the late royal.

The three-part series is built around five hours of audio recordings from 1991, in which Diana spoke candidly about her life, struggles within the royal family, and personal relationships.

The tapes were originally recorded during private conversations with her friend and confidant Dr. James Colthurst and were later passed on to author Andrew Morton, forming part of the basis for his 1992 book Diana: Her True Story. However, much of the material has never been publicly released until now.

The docuseries, produced by Love Monday TV and 53 Degrees Global, is scheduled to premiere on August 31, 2027, marking the 30th anniversary of Diana’s death.

The recordings are expected to provide deeper insight into Diana’s thoughts on her marriage, her position within the monarchy, and her relationships with key royal figures, including King Charles III and Camilla.

In addition to the audio material, the series will feature interviews with several individuals who knew Diana personally, including friends, former staff, and royal insiders, offering additional context to the revelations in the tapes.

The project is already generating significant interest, as it promises one of the most intimate portrayals of Diana’s life to date, built not on retrospective accounts, but on her own voice and perspective.

As anticipation builds ahead of its 2027 release, the docuseries is expected to reignite global conversations about Diana’s legacy and her complex relationship with the royal family.
