Nick Reiner appeared in court on April 29 as proceedings in the high-profile murder case involving his parents were delayed until September, according to court reports.

The 32-year-old has pleaded not guilty to charges related to the deaths of his father, filmmaker Rob Reiner, and his mother, producer Michele Singer Reiner. During the brief hearing at a Los Angeles court, Reiner spoke minimally, responding only to confirm that he understood and agreed with the delay.

Judge Sam Ohta scheduled the next hearing for September 15, with legal proceedings continuing as both sides await full autopsy reports. Defence attorney Kimberly Greene stated that key forensic documents have not yet been provided, more than four months after the incident.

Legal experts suggest the delay may indicate ongoing evidence collection by prosecutors. The case, which involves two counts of first-degree murder and additional allegations related to the use of a weapon, is expected to move through a lengthy pre-trial process before any trial date is set.

According to official records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, the cause of death for both victims was listed as multiple sharp force injuries, with the manner of death ruled as homicide. The couple were found dead at their home in December 2025.

The case has drawn significant public attention due to the prominence of the Reiner family and the severity of the charges. Further updates are expected as the investigation and legal proceedings continue.
