New details about Spider-Man: Brand New Day have been revealed through annotated script pages shared by director Destin Daniel Cretton.

According to a report by Entertainment Weekly, the pages offer insight into the film’s opening sequence, character direction and visual changes.

The story picks up months after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, with Peter Parker, played by Tom Holland, living in isolation after the world forgets his identity. The opening scene shows Peter alone in his apartment, struggling emotionally and physically as he adjusts to life without his closest relationships.

The script also introduces a new AI assistant named E.V., described as Peter’s primary companion in the absence of allies like MJ, portrayed by Zendaya. With no access to advanced technology from Tony Stark, Peter is shown relying entirely on self-made tools, including a homemade fabrication system.

One of the key reveals is a redesigned Spider-Man suit. Unlike previous high-tech versions, the new suit is crafted from basic materials, featuring visible seams and a grounded aesthetic inspired by earlier Spider-Man portrayals.

The opening sequence is expected to include a major action set piece, with Spider-Man responding to a developing situation in New York City, signalling a return to street-level storytelling. The film’s tone appears to emphasise resilience, identity and personal struggle.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled for release on July 31, continuing the Marvel Cinematic Universe storyline with a renewed focus on Peter Parker’s independence and evolution.
