Billie Eilish Manchester concerts feature in new 3D film with James Cameron
Billie Eilish includes Manchester shows in new 3D concert film created with director James Cameron

Billie Eilish has collaborated with filmmaker James Cameron on a new 3D concert film capturing performances from her Manchester shows during the Hit Me Hard And Soft world tour. The project was filmed across four nights at the Co-op Live venue, set for release on May 7 2026.
Speaking at the film’s London premiere, Eilish highlighted the significance of the Manchester audience. “one of my favourite audiences ever... I fricking love Manchester,” she said.
The production places both the performances and the crowd at the centre of the experience, with Cameron describing fans as a key part of the film’s narrative.
The collaboration originated after a suggestion from Cameron’s wife, Suzy, who is connected to Eilish’s mother, Maggie Baird, through environmental activism.
Eilish said, “Little old James Cameron sent me an email literally saying 'would you be interested in making a movie of your concert in 3D?'” She added that the idea had not previously occurred to her but described it as “such an amazing idea.”
The film uses compact 3D camera technology to follow Eilish closely during performances, including high-energy moments where she moves rapidly across the stage. Cameron recalled telling her, “Billie, if he gets in your way, just mow him down - and she did!”
Eilish described the collaboration as a new creative perspective. “Working with him was so magical in so many ways,” she said, adding that the project helped her see her performances as a film rather than solely a live show.
