Fans of The Boys have reacted to interviews with actor Tomer Capone after discovering his real accent differs significantly from his on-screen character.

Capone plays Frenchie in the Prime Video series, a character known for his distinctive French accent and complex background as a former hitman and chemist.

However, recent interview clips have revealed that the actor, who is Israeli, does not share the same accent in real life.

The latest instalments follow the vigilante group’s efforts to defeat Homelander, played by Antony Starr, as the storyline intensifies.

Fans took to social media to share their reactions after hearing Capone speak outside his role. “I was surprised to find out he was Israeli. The dude really got his French accent down to a T,” one viewer wrote. Another added, “It feels wrong not hearing him use his French accent lol.”

Further reactions highlighted the contrast between the actor and his character. “I would never have guessed he was Israeli, he def pulls off the French accent. And I know a lot of Israelis. Wow!” one comment read. Another fan wrote, “Frenchie without a French accent is so strange!”

Some viewers also compared Capone’s performance to that of co-star Karl Urban, who portrays Billy Butcher.

“Karl Urban's 'cockney', on the other hand... Volumes could be written on it, though I wouldn't have it any other way at this point,” one fan commented, while another added, “Wait till you hear us Brits tell you about Butcher’s accent.”

The current season continues to draw strong engagement, with new episodes released each Wednesday on Prime Video.
