HYDERABAD:

The Senior Member Board of Revenue Syed Khalid Hyder Shah has expressed hope that the launch of the property card system on a digital e-transfer platform will make the previously complex and lengthy property transfer process simple, fast, and secure. Visiting Matiari district to review progress on the rewriting of the record of rights on Monday, he believed that the e-registration of properties will also discourage corruption and illegal practices - a tacit acknowledgment that such ills still exist in the system.

The SMBR was briefed that the record of four dehs in Matiari has been rewritten while the exercise is progressing in 65 other dehs out of a total of 112 dehs in the district. Commissioner Hyderabad division Fayaz Abbasi described the Matiari team's work as exemplary for the entire province.

Member Reforms, Board of Revenue, Saifullah Abro said, the landowners will be able to easily carry out property transactions after paying the prescribed government fees and taxes online thanks to the digitisation. The Secretary Revenue Mehboob Siyal underlined that buyers and sellers can now visit the People's Service Center, and in the presence of two witnesses, complete the transfer of property or land records through a digital application at one place, saving both time and resources.

Under the system, once a property card is issued in the name of an owner, it will automatically update in the system whenever a newer transaction takes place.
