KARACHI:

The All Sindh Employees Revenue Association (SERA) staged a protest demonstration outside the Karachi Press Club on Monday, demanding an increase in salaries and allowances, along with the restoration of the death quota.

The protest was led by Sikandar Buzdar. Participants called for a 100% increase in salaries and pensions in the upcoming budget. They also demanded that ad-hoc relief allowances be merged into basic pay and that pay scales be revised accordingly.

The protesters urged the government to grant a 30% Disparity Reduction Allowance (DRA) to all Sindh employees in line with 2026 standards. They further called for the withdrawal of pension reform notifications and the immediate release of group insurance and benevolent fund payments.

The association also demanded that conveyance allowance (last revised in 2005), house rent allowance (2008), and medical allowance (2013) be updated according to 2026 rates.
