Afridi takes notice of police firing on protesters

Peshawar. Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has taken strong notice of a police firing incident that occurred during a protest against the drone attack in Bara Akakhel.
The protesters had gathered at the Hayatabad toll plaza to protest against the death of a teenage girl in a suspected quadcopter strike. However, the police resorted to firing and used tear gas to disperse the crowd.
The chief minister directed that a prompt and transparent inquiry be undertaken, with clear instructions to the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that those found responsible are proceeded against strictly in accordance with the law.
Six other family members, including women and children, were injured in the attack. The site of the incident is located close to the Bara Bazaar.
