Viral claims suggesting that Klay Thompson accused Megan Thee Stallion of cheating and demanding $700,000 per month in “maintenance money” have been widely circulated online, but there is no evidence to support them.

The rumours surfaced shortly after news of the couple’s reported split, which gained traction when Megan shared a now-expired Instagram Story accusing Thompson of cheating and “playing mind games.”

Her post hinted at trust issues and emotional strain, with her team later confirming the breakup and stating that fidelity was “non-negotiable.”

Following her claims, social media quickly flipped the narrative. Viral posts alleged that Thompson had gone live on Instagram to accuse Megan of cheating, reportedly with one of his teammates, and to make inflammatory remarks about their relationship.

However, these claims have been debunked. The clip being circulated as “proof” was not related to Megan at all, but rather older footage of Thompson discussing his basketball career. In his recent livestreams, he made no mention of Megan, cheating allegations, or their relationship.

A second rumour claimed that Thompson said Megan demanded $700,000 per month for her upkeep. This claim also appears to be entirely fabricated. There are no verified statements, posts, or recordings in which Thompson makes such an allegation.

The narrative has been widely criticised online as an example of how misinformation can spread rapidly, particularly when tied to high-profile celebrity breakups. Observers have also pointed out that Megan, a successful artist in her own right, has an estimated net worth in the tens of millions, making the claim both unsubstantiated and implausible.

Separately, speculation has emerged linking Thompson to Lexie Brown, with unverified claims suggesting she may be involved in the situation. However, no concrete evidence has been provided, and neither party has publicly addressed the rumours.

At present, the only confirmed information remains Megan’s initial claims about the breakup. All other allegations circulating online, including accusations of cheating by Thompson and the reported $700,000 monthly demand, remain unverified and should be treated with caution.
