Entrepreneur Ben Pasternak has publicly denied allegations that he strangled his ex-girlfriend, content creator Evelyn Ha, calling the claims “not true".

In a detailed video statement, Pasternak said he is “not physically aggressive in any way at all,” adding that “most people would describe me as super gentle.” He framed the accusations as a reversal of what he claims actually happened behind closed doors, alleging that Ha “was abusive to me for pretty much the entirety of our relationship.”

According to Pasternak, the relationship began with controlling behaviour. He claimed he was pressured to choose between Ha and his female friends, saying it evolved into a situation where he “basically wasn’t allowed to see my friends” and felt “contained and cornered and isolated.”

He further alleged that the situation escalated into physical abuse, describing incidents of “hitting, pulling, scratching… digging her nails into me.” Pasternak claimed the alleged behaviour was widely known among those close to them, stating it was “an open secret” among friends and her family.

Pasternak also asserted that others had similar experiences, saying he had spoken to multiple former partners of Ha who “all had basically the exact same experience as me.” He added that there is “a lot of documentation of this,” including “photos,” a “medical report,” and that their couples therapist was aware of the alleged abuse.

The situation, he said, became more serious towards the end of the relationship, when he claims a therapist advised him to “consider getting a restraining order”, something he described as “mind-blowing” at the time and not something he acted on.

Describing the breakup, Pasternak alleged that after ending the relationship, Ha sent a message saying, “I’m gonna make sure this comes back to you 10,000 times fold,” before going to the police with accusations that he strangled her.

Beyond the abuse allegations, Pasternak also accused Ha of infidelity and misrepresentation, claiming she was “unfaithful in all of these relationships,” and that she is “really good at blurring the lines” and “not to be trusted.”

Despite the seriousness of the situation, Pasternak said he would not engage in a public back-and-forth, stating, “I’m not going to get into a YouTube drama… I trust the court system to reveal the truth.” He also struck a measured tone towards Ha, saying he still has “empathy for her” and hopes the situation could be “a turning point.”

As of now, the case remains unresolved, with both sides presenting sharply conflicting narratives. No legal conclusion has been reached, and the allegations from both parties remain unverified.
