Bannu hit by shootings

BANNU:

A string of shooting and sabotage incidents in various parts of Bannu district on Sunday has sparked grave concerns over the law and order situation.

Unidentified motorcycle assailants opened fire, injuring Police Head Constable Zahid Khan and his five-year-old daughter Zuwaya Gul. Both victims were rushed immediately to the District Headquarters Hospital, where they are receiving medical treatment.

The attackers managed to flee the scene. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.

In a separate incident near Hindi Khel in the Jani Khel area, armed assailants fatally shot 50-year-old citizen Afzal Khan.

According to police, the victim was targeted while standing near a road.
