Severance season 3 is generating renewed interest after Adam Scott confirmed he already knows how the series will conclude, offering early insight into what viewers can expect from the next instalment.
Scott, who serves as both lead actor and executive producer on the Apple series, said his involvement allows him full access to the show’s direction.
“Oh, yes. I’m an executive producer on the show, so I’m involved in all of it. We talk with the writers and Dan [Erickson] all the time. I know everything about what’s going on. [As an actor] I like having as much information as possible.”
Production on season 3 has not yet begun, but Scott indicated anticipation among the cast and crew following a gap since filming season 2 concluded.
“It’s going to be great. There are so many surprises. I can’t wait to shoot it,” he said, adding that Ben Stiller will not direct the upcoming season but remains involved in the project.
Reflecting on his casting, Scott explained he had to demonstrate his suitability for the role. “I don’t know if I would categorise it as a battle, but I certainly had to prove I could do it,” he said, noting the scale of the production required confidence from the studio.
The actor also described the role as a significant moment in his career, highlighting its complexity and narrative depth.
He added that preparation for key scenes, including transitions between characters, involved extensive rehearsal.
Scott acknowledged the appeal of ambiguity in storytelling, stating that maintaining mystery remains a key goal for the series.
