Noah Kahan says he goes 'Hannah Montana mode' to stay grounded amid fame
Kahan joked that he essentially takes off the 'wig' of fame and returns to his normal self when he’s not performing

Noah Kahan is opening up about how he stays grounded while navigating growing fame, revealing that he separates his public and private life in a surprisingly simple way.
Speaking at the TIME100 Gala, Kahan explained that he relies heavily on his life outside of music to keep him centered. He credited his family and his home in Vermont as key anchors, saying that returning home helps him reconnect with who he is beyond his career.
“I have an amazing family and a lovely wife and a whole life outside of music that allows me to feel grounded,” he shared, adding that being around loved ones “immediately” brings him back down to earth.
The Stick Season singer described his approach as going into “Hannah Montana mode,” joking that he essentially takes off the “wig” of fame and returns to his normal self when he’s not performing.
Kahan also noted that he has always found it relatively easy to disconnect from the spotlight, which has helped him maintain balance despite his rapid rise in the music industry.
Alongside staying grounded, the singer has been increasingly open about his mental health, including his struggles with body dysmorphia. He said that speaking honestly about these experiences has allowed him to connect more deeply with fans and feel more comfortable being himself.
“I can just be me,” he added, reflecting on how vulnerability has shaped both his personal growth and his relationship with his audience.
As Kahan continues to rise in popularity, his approach highlights a balance between fame and authenticity, leaning on personal connections and self-awareness to stay grounded while living in the spotlight.
