'Gen V' canceled after two seasons as prime video ends the boys spinoff

'Gen V' canceled after two seasons on Prime Video, but characters will continue in The Boys universe projects

Gen V has been canceled after two seasons on Prime Video, bringing the story of Godolkin University’s young supes to an end following its second-season finale in October 2025.

The series, set in the same universe as The Boys, followed college-aged superheroes navigating a dangerous world shaped by corporate-controlled superhuman politics. Despite its cancellation, producers have confirmed that key characters will continue appearing across other projects within the expanding franchise.

Executive producers Eric Kripke and Evan Goldberg stated that while the show will not continue, the storylines of its characters are far from over. They confirmed that several figures from Gen V will return in upcoming seasons of The Boys, as well as future entries in the shared universe.

The decision comes as Amazon continues to expand the franchise, with spin-offs such as Vought Rising scheduled for a 2027 release and another project, The Boys: Mexico, currently in development. These expansions signal a continued investment in the superhero universe despite the cancellation of individual series.

The second season of Gen V introduced new conflicts at Godolkin University while tying deeper into the larger battle against Vought and Homelander. Cast members included Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, and Derek Luh.

Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios co-produce the franchise alongside Kripke Enterprises, Original Film, and Point Grey Pictures. While Gen V ends its run, its characters are expected to remain part of the evolving narrative of The Boys universe.
