D4vd has been transferred to the Twin Towers Correctional Facility, where Nick Reiner is also being held, ahead of a scheduled preliminary hearing, according to jail records.

The musician, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, was moved to the facility on April 22 and is being held without bail. His first hearing is set for April 23 as legal proceedings continue in connection with the death of Celeste Rivas.

Prosecutors have indicated that Burke is expected to face a charge of first-degree murder with special circumstances, including allegations of lying in wait, committing the crime for financial gain and murdering a witness linked to an investigation.

Additional accusations include lewd and lascivious sexual acts involving a minor under 14 and unlawful mutilation of human remains.

Burke pleaded not guilty during his arraignment and has denied all allegations. His legal representatives previously stated, “Let us be clear - the actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez and he was not the cause of her death.”

Authorities allege that the incident occurred on April 23 2025. The victim, a teenager from Lake Elsinore, California, was later discovered in September 2025 in the trunk of a Tesla registered to Burke. Prosecutors also claim that the victim had been a witness in a separate investigation linked to D4vd.

Reiner, aged 32, is awaiting his own preliminary hearing scheduled for May 29. He has been charged with multiple counts of murder in a separate case involving the deaths of his parents.

Due to the special circumstances outlined in Burke’s case, the charge carries a potential sentence of life imprisonment without parole or the death penalty. The District Attorney’s office has not confirmed whether it will seek capital punishment.
