Names sought for flyovers

The Rawalpindi Municipal Corporation has invited objections and suggestions from the public regarding proposed names for the District Courts Chowk and adjacent Jinnah Park flyover and underpass, with citizens already beginning to submit alternative proposals.

The Chief Officer of the Municipal Corporation proposed naming the Kutchery Chowk underpass and flyover as "Marka-e-Haq Flyover and Underpass."

However, a citizen, Raja Najeeb, opposed the suggestion and proposed naming it after national hero and nuclear scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan as "Mohsin-e-Pakistan Flyover and Underpass." Similarly, Ammar Chowk underpass has been proposed to be named "Fazaia Flyover Underpass."
