A disturbing new horror film is making waves following its debut trailer, as Neon releases the first look at Leviticus, a conversion therapy-themed thriller that has already generated buzz on the festival circuit.

The trailer showcases a haunting and violent story centered on two teenage boys trapped in a deeply conservative religious community, where their relationship becomes the target of a brutal “treatment.”

Directed by Adrian Chiarella, the film follows the pair as they are subjected to a ritual meant to “cure” them — only for it to unleash a terrifying supernatural force. The entity, which takes the form of the person its victims desire most, turns their love into something deadly.

The trailer, set to an eerie tone, blends elements of psychological horror and queer coming-of-age drama, highlighting themes of repression, identity and religious trauma. It also features intense imagery and unsettling sequences that emphasise the film’s darker themes.

Leviticus first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier in 2026, where it quickly became one of the more talked-about genre titles. The film was later acquired by Neon for distribution, signaling strong industry confidence in its potential impact.

Starring Joe Bird and Stacy Clausen, alongside Mia Wasikowska, the film combines emotional storytelling with graphic horror elements, positioning it as both a genre piece and a social commentary.

Leviticus is scheduled for release on June 19, 2026, and is already being positioned as one of the year’s most provocative horror releases.
