Netflix has shared early details of a new documentary titled KYLIE, centred on the life and career of Australian pop icon Kylie Minogue. While the project has been officially revealed through Netflix promotional material, a confirmed release date has not yet been announced.
The upcoming docuseries is described as a multi part production that will explore Minogue’s journey from her early acting breakthrough in the Australian soap Neighbours during the 1980s to her evolution into one of the world’s most recognisable pop stars. Over a career spanning more than five decades, she has sold over 80 million records globally and maintained a consistent presence in international music charts.
According to Netflix Tudum, KYLIE will include access to personal archive material such as home videos, photographs and previously unseen footage. The series also features new interviews with Minogue, offering reflections on her career, public life and personal challenges, including periods of illness and industry scrutiny.
The documentary is directed by Emmy and BAFTA award winning filmmaker Michael Harte, known for works including Three Identical Strangers, Still: A Michael J Fox Movie and BECKHAM. It is produced by John Battsek’s Ventureland, a production company associated with several acclaimed music and cultural documentaries.
The series will also include commentary from figures connected to different stages of Minogue’s career, including collaborators and fellow performers such as Dannii Minogue, Jason Donovan, Nick Cave and Pete Waterman. These contributions are expected to provide context to her development as an artist and her impact on global pop culture.
Netflix has positioned KYLIE as an intimate portrait of a performer who has remained relevant across shifting music trends and decades of change in the entertainment industry. The project highlights her ability to reinvent her image and sound while maintaining a consistent fan base across generations.
Although anticipation is building, Netflix has not yet confirmed when the documentary will be released. The platform has only stated that more information will be shared at a later date. This has led to growing speculation among fans, particularly as interest in music based documentaries continues to rise.
The announcement adds to a broader trend of streaming platforms focusing on long form artist retrospectives, combining archival material with new interviews to document cultural impact. In Minogue’s case, the project aims to present both her public achievements and personal perspective in a single narrative.
