Rumours surrounding influencer Klaudia Zakrzewska, known online as Klaudia Glam, have spread rapidly on social media following a serious car collision in Soho, Westminster, on 19 April.
\Posts falsely claiming the 29-year-old had died have circulated widely, despite reports that she remains in critical condition in hospital.
The incident is linked to a police investigation following an early-morning altercation in Argyll Street that escalated into violence. Influencer Gabrielle Carrington, known online as RIELLEUK, has been arrested and charged in connection with the crash after her Mercedes allegedly struck multiple individuals during the incident.
In the aftermath, social media was flooded with “RIP” posts and tribute messages for Zakrzewska, many of which were later criticised after it emerged her condition had not been confirmed as fatal.
Some posts, reportedly shared by individuals believed to be close to her, added to confusion online, prompting backlash over the spread of unverified information.
Zakrzewska’s mother has since spoken out on social media, urging the public to pray for her daughter’s recovery. In an emotional message, she asked supporters to keep Klaudia in their thoughts, describing her as her “angel” and “everything,” and stating that she is still holding on to hope for her recovery.
The fact that her mother posted this and asked for prayers as there is still hope for Klaudia but her friends are rushing to post RIP posts (when it was less than 24hrs of the event) is sickening. A lesson for everyone to drop any fake friends who will use you for clout! https://t.co/HvF7amznia pic.twitter.com/NQyr7Abpyi
The situation has intensified debate online over the spread of misinformation during ongoing medical emergencies, with many calling for greater caution before sharing unconfirmed reports about individuals in critical condition.
