Korangi Bridge robbery gang busted, five held
The police have arrested a notorious gang involved in armed robbery attempts at Korangi Bridge, which had become a symbol of fear for commuters, according to SSP Korangi Fida Janori.
Addressing a press conference, the SSP said the gang used a unique method to carry out robberies. The suspects would reach the bridge on foot via a nearby riverbed, climb onto it using a wooden ladder, and receive weapons from an accomplice arriving by rickshaw. After committing the crime, they would return the weapons to the rickshaw driver and escape the same way. Acting on intelligence, Korangi police conducted raids and arrested five suspects, recovering two rifles and three pistols from their possession.
