Toronto police reportedly seal Drake ‘ICEMAN’ installation after fan activity raises safety concerns

Toronto Police’s 51 Division has temporarily sealed off Drake’s ICEMAN installation in downtown Toronto after fan activity at the site raised public safety concerns.
According to reports circulating on social media, crowds gathered around the ice sculpture in the parking lot of the Bond Hotel, with some individuals attempting to break off pieces of the structure.

Fans were seen using pickaxes and sledgehammers, while others reportedly tried to accelerate the melting process using heat sources, including a campfire set atop the installation.

Drake shared an Instagram story featuring an iMessage exchange that read “It’s in,” alongside an image of two ice blocks, which initially led to speculation that the album had been completed. It was later understood to be a reference to the concealed release date within the structure.
The rollout has been accompanied by other high-profile moments, including reports of explosions in Toronto linked to the filming of the “Project Bot” music video, as indicated by posts from DJ Akademiks, Anthony Fantano and Drake.
Drake first introduced ICEMAN in July last year through a series of livestreams, where he premiered tracks including “What Did I Miss” featuring Central Cee, “Which One,” also with Central Cee, and “DOG HOUSE” with Yeat and Julia Wolf.
Authorities have not confirmed how long the installation will remain sealed, as interest in the project continues to draw crowds.
