Absentee officers face action
.

Strict notice of absentee officers and unsatisfactory performance was taken during a dengue prevention review meeting in Rawalpindi and immediate action was ordered, including the sealing of offices and issuance of warnings to improve performance.
According to officials, a review meeting on the anti-dengue campaign, chaired by MNA Tahira Aurangzeb and Deputy Commissioner Waqar Hassan Cheema, revealed that not only were officers from some departments absent, but the performance of certain institutions in dengue surveillance and awareness campaigns was also found to be unsatisfactory.
On this, MNA Aurangzeb directed the deputy commissioner to take immediate strict action against the concerned officers and seal their offices.
Following the orders, offices of several departments, including Social Welfare, Local Government, Small Industries, Labour Department, and Consumer Protection Department, were sealed immediately. Explanations were also sought from the officers over their absence from the meeting and poor performance in the anti-dengue campaign.
Sources said that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed the implementation of a zero-tolerance policy regarding dengue prevention.
