The next chapter in the DC Universe is taking shape with Superman: Man of Tomorrow, the highly anticipated follow-up to 2025’s Superman.

The film is set to hit theatres on July 9, 2027, with James Gunn returning as both writer and director.

The sequel will see David Corenswet reprise his role as Superman/Clark Kent, alongside Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane.

Unlike the first film, the story will reportedly center on an uneasy alliance between Superman and Lex Luthor as they face a greater threat, the iconic DC villain Brainiac, played by Lars Eidinger.

The cast will also expand with several new additions, including Aaron Pierre as Green Lantern (John Stewart) and Adria Arjona as Maxima, a powerful alien warrior.

Returning supporting characters include Jimmy Olsen, Eve Teschmacher, Hawkgirl, Guy Gardner and Mister Terrific, further building out the interconnected DC Universe.

While an official synopsis and trailer have not yet been released, the film is expected to continue expanding the tone and scope established in the first installment, blending character-driven storytelling with large-scale superhero spectacle.

As anticipation builds, Superman: Man of Tomorrow is shaping up to be a major milestone for DC Studios, bringing together familiar heroes and villains in a story that could redefine the franchise’s future.
