Charles Dance joins 'The Batman Part II' cast in mystery role
Production of sequel is expected to begin in 2026, with the film currently scheduled for release on October 1, 2027

Charles Dance is heading to Gotham, joining the cast of The Batman Part II in a mystery role.
According to Deadline, the Game of Thrones star has signed on for the highly anticipated sequel directed by Matt Reeves, though details about his character are being kept tightly under wraps.
The film will once again be led by Robert Pattinson, who returns as Bruce Wayne/Batman, alongside returning cast members including Andy Serkis, Jeffrey Wright and Colin Farrell.
The sequel continues Reeves’ darker, grounded take on Gotham City and is expected to further explore corruption and moral complexity following the events of the 2022 film.
While plot specifics remain under wraps, the project has been steadily building an expanded ensemble, with new cast additions reportedly including major names in undisclosed roles, adding to speculation about which villains or key figures from the Batman universe may appear.
The Batman Part II has faced multiple delays during development, largely due to the time taken to complete the script. Production is now expected to begin in 2026, with the film currently scheduled for release on October 1, 2027.
Dance’s casting adds another layer of intrigue to the sequel, as fans speculate how the veteran actor, known for commanding, authoritative roles, will fit into Reeves’ evolving Gotham saga.
