Sabrina Carpenter leaned into cinematic storytelling during her Coachella performance, delivering a Thelma and Louise-inspired moment that brought Hollywood nostalgia to the festival stage.
Carpenter incorporated a tribute to the iconic 1991 film by bringing out Geena Davis, who starred in the original movie, as part of her weekend two set.
The appearance followed a similar moment from the first weekend, when Susan Sarandon, Davis’ Thelma and Louise co-star, made a cameo, reinforcing the cinematic theme of Carpenter’s performance.

Carpenter’s set was designed as a theatrical, Hollywood-inspired experience, blending music with storytelling and surprise guest appearances. The inclusion of Davis added another layer to the performance, directly referencing the cult classic’s legacy and its enduring cultural impact.
The performance took place during Coachella 2026, where Carpenter served as one of the headliners. Her show featured multiple celebrity cameos across both weekends, further emphasising the “Sabrinawood” concept she built around Old Hollywood aesthetics and film references.
By weaving Thelma & Louise into her set, Carpenter continued to push her live performances beyond traditional concerts, turning them into cinematic spectacles that merge pop music with film-inspired storytelling.
