Marvel makes surprise 'Avengers: Endgame' move ahead of 'Doomsday'

Marvel has announced an unexpected 'Endgame' update as hype builds for 'Avengers: Doomsday'

Marvel Studios has confirmed Avengers: Endgame will return to theaters this September with never-before-seen footage.

The surprise announcement was made during Disney’s CinemaCon 2026 presentation, where directors Joe Russo and Anthony Russo revealed the blockbuster re-release. While they confirmed new material will be included, no details were given about what fans can expect.

The re-release will also help launch Disney’s new “Infinity Vision” branding for premium large-format theaters. The label is designed to highlight auditoriums offering giant screens, laser projection, and immersive sound.

Disney said audiences will be able to seek out Infinity Vision-certified locations beginning with Endgame’s September return, followed by Avengers: Doomsday in December.

The announcement comes as Marvel ramps up excitement for Doomsday, which also debuted new trailer footage at CinemaCon.

For longtime MCU fans, the chance to revisit Avengers: Endgame with fresh scenes could make the September event one of the studio’s biggest nostalgia plays yet.
