Wizards of the Coast, the company behind Dungeons & Dragons, is expanding into the booming actual-play entertainment space with the launch of a new series titled Dungeon Masters.
According to Variety, the show will premiere on YouTube on April 22, with its first two episodes dropping simultaneously. The series will feature Jasmine Bhullar as the Dungeon Master, alongside a cast including Mayanna Berrin, Christian Navarro, Neil Newbon and Devora Wilde.
“Dungeon Masters” enters a rapidly growing genre popularized by shows like Critical Role and Dimension 20, where performers play tabletop role-playing games in an episodic format. Unlike many competitors, however, the new series will feature official Dungeons & Dragons content and storylines.
The first campaign arc is set in the gothic horror world of Ravenloft and ties into an upcoming official campaign release, “Ravenloft: The Horrors Within,” scheduled to launch in June. Episodes will roll out weekly, with related content becoming available on D&D Beyond following each release.
Wizards of the Coast aims to attract both longtime fans and new audiences, leveraging the rising popularity of actual-play content fueled by projects like Baldur's Gate III and broader pop culture interest.
The series also features original music by composer David Arkenstone and incorporates high-production elements, signaling a major investment in the format.
With “Dungeon Masters,” Wizards of the Coast is positioning itself to directly compete in a space it helped inspire, while expanding the reach of the Dungeons & Dragons brand.
