Kanye West is facing a lawsuit over an alleged assault that reportedly took place at Chateau Marmont in 2025.

According to a report by TMZ, the unidentified plaintiff has filed legal action accusing the rapper of battery and infliction of emotional distress. The lawsuit alleges that the incident occurred in April of last year while the plaintiff was seated at a table inside the well-known Los Angeles hotel.

Court documents claim that West approached the individual without warning and struck him in the face, causing him to fall to the ground. The plaintiff alleges that he hit his head and lost consciousness during the fall. The lawsuit further claims that West continued to strike him while he was on the ground.

In addition to the physical altercation, the plaintiff alleges that West accused him of inappropriate behavior toward a woman in his group. The lawsuit states that these claims were later repeated publicly, which allegedly subjected the plaintiff to reputational harm and public scrutiny.

The individual, who has filed the complaint as “John Doe,” is seeking unspecified damages. As of now, West has not publicly responded to the allegations.

The case adds to a series of legal challenges involving the artist, drawing renewed attention to his public conduct. Further developments are expected as the lawsuit progresses through the legal system.
