Tomer Capone has added fuel to an already heated online conversation after posting a cryptic message on Instagram, as backlash over a resurfaced interview about his past service in the Israel Defense Forces continues to grow.

The The Boys actor shared a quote widely attributed to Albert Einstein: “Don’t believe everything you read on the internet just because there’s a picture with a quote next to it.” The post, uploaded to his Instagram story, did not mention any controversy directly, but its timing has quickly made it a focal point of discussion.

Online, the message is being widely interpreted as a possible reaction to the renewed scrutiny surrounding Capone, particularly as the quote touches on misinformation and the reliability of what circulates on the internet. For many, the phrasing reads less like a random post and more like a pointed, if indirect, comment on the narratives currently forming around him.

The speculation comes in the wake of a 2016 interview that recently resurfaced, in which Capone reportedly spoke about his time in the IDF’s Paratroopers Brigade. In the interview, he described participating in night raids to detain individuals, as well as tense confrontations, including an incident involving a family resisting the detention of their 18-year-old daughter. He also discussed enforcing checkpoint restrictions and acknowledged moments of chaos, aggression, and misconduct during operations.

As details from the interview continue to circulate, the conversation around Capone has intensified, with some social media users criticizing his past remarks while others argue they are being taken out of context. The renewed attention has also led to questions about whether Amazon, which produces The Boys, will respond.

Against this backdrop, Capone’s Instagram story has taken on added significance. While it stops short of addressing anything explicitly, the post’s tone and timing have made it difficult to separate from the broader controversy.

For now, Capone has not issued any formal statement, leaving his brief Instagram message to carry outsized weight as debate around the resurfaced interview continues to unfold.
