Football star Jorginho Frello clarifies Chappell Roan hotel incident

Soccer star Jorginho Frello has issued a public statement saying he “regrets the impact” of his earlier claims involving Chappell Roan’s security team, describing the situation as a “misunderstanding” following new developments.

The incident stemmed from allegations made after Lollapalooza Brazil, where Frello’s daughter reportedly felt intimidated by a security guard at the hotel where both parties were staying. At the time, Frello claimed the guard behaved aggressively and confronted the child in a way that left her frightened.

Frello further noted that the security guard involved was not working as Roan’s personal security and was instead representing another artist at the hotel. He added that while the exact reason for the approach remains unclear, it is now evident that Roan was not directly responsible for the incident.

The footballer emphasized that his original reaction came from concern as a father but acknowledged that the situation was not as it initially appeared. He said he regrets the distress caused to both Chappell Roan and his own family, adding that he does not support online harassment directed at any party.

Chappell Roan had previously addressed the situation, stating that she was unaware of the interaction at the time and clarifying that her personal security team was not involved.

Frello concluded by calling the matter a misunderstanding and said he considers it closed, while urging respect and empathy from the public moving forward.
